Congratulating Cristina Scarlet Luna-Gnatzig for being selected as the 2013 Miss Viva México and ambassador of Mexican culture and heritage.
Body
WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage month is celebrated in the United States from September 15 to October 15; and
WHEREAS, as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, WLMV - La Movida 1480AM, a member radio station of Madison's Mid-West Family Broadcasting group, will celebrate the tenth annual Festival Viva México 2013 on Sunday, September 15, 2013; and
WHEREAS, it has become a tradition to select an outstanding young woman to represent the Mexican culture and heritage by being crowned as Miss Viva México; and
WHEREAS, Cristina Scarlet Luna-Gnatzig was born in Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico, is currently a Certified Nurse Assistant at Our House Assisted Living in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, and is pursuing a nursing degree at Madison College; and
WHEREAS, throughout 2013-2014,  she will participate in events and activities such as the Dane County Fair, Latino Health Fair and fundraisers to serve as a role model to other Latino youth in our community; and
WHEREAS, Cristina Scarlet Luna-Gnatzig represents the perseverance, beauty and dreams of our Latina youth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council congratulate Cristina Scarlet Luna-Gnatzig for being selected as the 2013 Miss Viva México and ambassador of Mexican culture and heritage.
