Commending Madison Water Utility on winning Best-Tasting Water in Wisconsin.
Body
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility is entrusted by the people of Madison to supply high quality water for consumption and fire protection, at a reasonable cost, while conserving and protecting our ground water resources for present and future generations; and
 
WHEREAS, Madison drinking water comes from a deep sandstone aquifer recharged by precipitation that is naturally filtered through layers of soil and rock to produce high-quality water; and
 
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility conducts more than a thousand tests every month to monitor quality and safety; and
 
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility gained state recognition by taking first place at the 27th annual Wisconsin Water Association Drinking Water Taste contest, held at the State Fair on August 5, 2013;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council do hereby commend Madison Water Utility on winning the 2013 Wisconsin Water Association Drinking Water Taste Competition and recognize the many contributions made by the staff to provide safe, high quality, and delicious drinking water 24-hours-a-day.
