Body
WHEREAS, the Reindahl Park Master Plan includes a Four Field Softball Complex with associated parking, facilities, and amenities; and
 
WHEREAS, the 2012-2017 Park and Open Space Plan supports the development of a Softball Complex in Reindahl Park; and
 
WHEREAS, the Parks Division Capital Improvement Program anticipated this project in future years; and
 
WHEREAS, the Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Foundation has committed up to $200,000 towards the design development of this project; and if the Foundation approves the site design and master plan, the Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Foundation, will provide funding for the full design, permitting, and construction of this project; and
 
WHEREAS, the Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Foundation has expressed an interest in funding the full design, permitting, and construction of this project; and
 
WHEREAS, the Foundation's generous contribution towards this project will allow it to move forward earlier than anticipated and with no tax levy supported borrowing required; and
 
WHEREAS, to allow for the complex to open in 2014, planning and design work needs to commence in 2012.
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2012 Adopted Parks Division Capital Budget be amended to create a new project entitled "Reindahl Park Softball Complex," and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this project will include expenditure authorization of $200,000 to be fully funded through private contributions.
