Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council adopted Section 23.36 of the Madison General Ordinances to establish a Glass-Free Zone in a specified geographic area during a specified period of time; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that a Glass-Free Zone will be in effect from 9:30 pm on October 26, 2011 to 5:00 am on October 27, 2011 and from 9:30 pm on October 27, 2011 to 5:00 am on October 28, 2011; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Glass-Free Zone will include the entire length of State Street beginning at the intersection of North Park Street and State Street and continuing to the intersection of West Mifflin Street and North Carroll Street at State Street. The Glass-Free Zone will also include the 500, 600 and 700 blocks of University Avenue, the 200 and 400 blocks of West Gorham Street, the 200 and 400 blocks of West Gilman Street, the 100, 200 and 300 blocks of West Johnson Street, the 400 and 500 blocks of North Frances Street, the 400 and 500 blocks of North Lake Street, the 400 block of North Murray Street, Hawthorne Court, Fitch Court, North Henry Street between Langdon Street and West Dayton Street, the 300 and 400 blocks of North Broom Street, the 100 block of North Fairchild Street, the 10 and 100 blocks of West Mifflin Street, the 10 and 100 blocks of North Carroll Street, the 100 block of West Dayton Street, and Langdon Street between North Park Street and North Henry Street; and
WHEREAS, no person shall possess any glass container on city-owned property within the Glass-Free Zone; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby creates a Glass-Free Zone to be operative from 9:30 p.m. on October 26, 2010 to 5:00 a.m. on October 27, 2010, and from 9:30 p.m. on October 27, 2010 to 5:00 a.m. on ...
