PREAMBLE
The City of Fitchburg is proposing to extend Post Road from Fish Hatchery Road to its current western end point in the City of MadIson. This extension will open up an area within Fitchburg for development. This area is not easily served by gravity sanitary sewer from the City of Fitchburg, but could access and extend an existing City of Madison Sewer. The Common Council can allow properties outside the City of Madison to connect to Madison Sewer in accordance with MGO 35.02(4)(b). Both the extension of Post Road and the additional sewer customer revenue are in the City's interest, with sewer connection terms established by an Intergovernmental Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council hereby approves of an Intergovernmental Agreement relating to the Post Road Sanitary Sewer Extension and allows certain properties within the City of Fitchburg to connect to the Madison Sewer Utility, in accordance with MGO 35.02(4)(b).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute this intergovernmental agreement relating to the Post Road Sanitary Sewer Extension.
