The total project cost is $575,000, with grant funding of $460,000 and City funding of $115,000 (G.O. Borrowing) to meet the match requirement.  This project is included in the Fire Department's 2012 Adopted Capital Budget.

Body
Two grant applications have been submitted to the Federal Emergency Managment Agency, DHS under the 2011 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.  The amount of the grant applications total  $575,000.  If both grants are awarded, the federal share would be 80 per cent or  $460,000 and the City  share is 20 per cent or $115,000.  Grant application EMW-2011-FO-09234 includes a building sprinkler/alarm system and 64 SCBA air packs.  Grant application EMW-2011-FV-04963  is a request for one ambulance
 
The 2012 Fire Capital Budget request includes:

WHEREAS, the City has applied for  two  Assistance to Firefighters Grants.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that  the City accept the 2011 Assistance to firefighters grants if awarded.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, City Clerk and other necessary City officials are authorized to execute any necessary documents upon award.
 
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED, the Council approves the grant budget.
