The estimated costs for this Parking Operations Manager double-fill for the period April 2, 2012 through June 1 2012 would be $17,326 in salary plus $7,363 in benefits, for a total of $24,689. Costs for the position are wholly funded by Parking Utility funds and will not affect the levy. No additional appropriation is required.

Approving the double-fill of a Parking Operations Manager position due to the retirement of the current Parking Operations Manager, William Knobeloch.
Body
WHEREAS, Mr. William Knobeloch, Parking Operations Manager in the Parking Utility Division of the Department of Transportation is retiring from City of Madison employment after twenty (20) years of service; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to start the national search to hire a replacement very soon; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the new person will start about April 2, 2012, and Mr. Knobeloch will actually leave employment about June 1, 2012, causing a double-fill in excess of the thirty (30) days, which is authorized by Madison General Ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the double-filling of the Parking Operations Manager position in the Parking Utility is approved for a period April 2, 2012 through June 1, 2012.
