Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an airspace lease with the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System for use of the public right-of-way over East Campus Mall for an enclosed elevated gallery connecting two buildings comprising the Chazen Museum of Art.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS:  This ordinance authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a lease with the Board of Regents for airspace encroachments into the public right-of-way over East Campus Mall.  This ordinance is required under Wis. Stat. § 66.0915(4) and is complementary to Resolution ID No. 22812.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:

      Authority is hereby granted to the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a lease with the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System for airspace encroachments into the East Campus Mall public right-of-way.  The lease is for an initial term of ninety-nine (99) years and is subject to the terms and conditions in a certain Lease between the City of Madison and the Board of Regents.
