Fiscal Note
In the Executive 2017 Capital Budget Engineering - Major Streets has budgeted $12.8 million for the McKee Rd (CTH PD) Improvements project (MUNIS 10245). This project will reconstruct the existing two lane rural roadway into four lanes with bike lanes. The budgeted funding is sufficient for the anticipated costs of the work proposed in the resolution. Funding is provided by GO Borrowing, County funding, and Federal funding.
The proposed resolution approves plan documents at a total estimated cost of $14,250,000 which is split out to agency and other funding sources as follows:
Major Streets - $3,220,000
Bike/Ped - $500,000
Sewer Utility - $200,000
Water Utility - $650,000
Federal Funding - $6,080,000
Dane County Funding - $3,700,000

PREAMBLE
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Common Council adopted RES-16-00315 on April 19, 2016, approving the roadway geometry for McKee Rd / CTH PD - Meriter Way to Maple Grove Road project; and,
The City is proposing to improve McKee Rd (CTH PD) from Meriter Way to Maple Grove Rd. The roadway will be reconstructed to an urban arterial boulevard with sidewalks and bike lanes, grassed median, lighting, storm sewer, water main & sanitary sewer. Bicycle and pedestrian accommodations will be provided, including an overpass over McKee Rd with the Ice Age Junction Path. Traffic signal improvements are included at the Muir Field Rd, High Point Rd and Maple Grove Rd intersections.
